Mohbad’s Father Cries Over US Lab Denial, Seeks Answers

by Beyondboders

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, is heartbroken after learning that a US lab did not conduct a toxicology test on his son’s body.

The lab in Pennsylvania denied doing the test, contradicting the Lagos State Government’s claim.

A recent report revealed that the lab did not handle Mohbad’s case. The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy had earlier said that the test was being done at this US lab.

However, on May 15, a pathologist testified that an autopsy could not determine Mohbad’s cause of death due to body decomposition.

On May 17, a representative from the lab confirmed they had no record of Mohbad. This news deeply upset Joseph Aloba, who believes this shows an attempt to cover up the truth about his son’s death.

Speaking with newsmen on Sunday, Aloba said, “I was brought to tears when I learnt of the denial. I never expected such a fabrication. It now appears that the claim of it being taken to the US was concocted from the beginning, indicating an attempt to conceal the truth.

“Hearing the news made me more sorrowful about the death of my son. I don’t believe the state government could deceive everyone, saying they went to conduct the test and they did not. I felt so pained. It also assures me that we will get justice in the end.”

He called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to investigate the officials involved in the autopsy, demanding answers on why the process is unclear, and suspecting foul play.

Beyond Boders recalls that Mohbad, who died at 27 on September 12, 2023, left the Marlian Music record label in February 2022.

His death has caused a lot of controversy and led to the arrest of several people, including Naira Marley and Sam Larry. Mohbad’s body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for further investigation.
