The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared that the nationwide strike will persist until Tuesday’s union meeting.
Beyond Boders reports that despite Monday’s agreement with the Federal Government, the strike remains in effect pending review by the union’s organs.
The NLC announced on social media, “Until we hear from our organs at our meeting scheduled for today, June 4, we are still on strike.”
Following a six-hour meeting, the Federal Government pledged to increase the minimum wage offer beyond N60,000.
President Bola Tinubu committed to establishing a higher national minimum wage, with daily meetings scheduled to finalize the figure.
