President Bola Tinubu has been chosen again to be the chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of States and Government for another year.
Beyond Boders reports that Tinubu’s first term ends on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
He was re-elected at the 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of States and Government on Sunday, July 7, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria.
Tinubu, who accepted his re-election, asked the President of Senegal to help with peace talks in Burkina Faso, Niger, and Chad.
In his acceptance speech, Tinubu said: “I have accepted to continue to deliver on this service with the great men and women on this democratic journey, to serve our interest and build democratic values on the structure we inherited.”
