BREAKING: Global IT Outage Halts Airlines, Banks, TV Stations

A major global outage has stopped many businesses from working online, as banks, airlines, telecom companies, TV stations, and supermarkets are all affected.

CNN says big U.S. airlines like Delta, United, and American Airlines had to stop flights on Friday morning because of a tech problem.

Reuters reports that at Edinburgh Airport in Scotland, passengers could not use boarding pass scanners because of a “server offline” message.

In the UK, train companies Southern, Thameslink, Gatwick Express, and Great Northern had IT failures, causing problems for travelers.

Australia’s Telstra, a telecom company, also faced disruptions.

Sky News in the UK was briefly off the air because of the outage, leaving viewers without news. They showed a message saying they hoped to fix the issue soon.

AFP reports that three airlines in India and flights at Berlin Brandenburg Airport in Germany were hit by IT problems. All airports in Spain also had issues, causing travel chaos.

The Guardian UK says the outage might be linked to Windows workstations, while Microsoft 365 users had trouble accessing cloud apps on Friday.
