Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane, has been freed from police custody after activist VDM pleaded with superstar singer Davido to show mercy.
Beyond Boders recalls that Dammy Krane was arrested by the police in Abuja following a complaint from Davido, who accused him of defamation.
Over the years, Dammy Krane has repeatedly claimed that Davido owes him money and recently accused him of being involved in the death of his aide, Tagbo.
In a video shared on August 28th, 2024, VDM is seen begging Davido to forgive Dammy Krane and give him another chance.
“I want to take money to him for food but now I want to beg David, you be my brother you’re not an oppressor. I know you have influence but you cannot use your influence to keep him there. I want to beg you, this is not who you are, this is not your personality.. abeg! Give this guy a second chance,” VDM said.

Later, VDM posted another video on Instagram, showing him with Dammy Krane and confirming that the singer had been released.
He thanked Davido for responding to his plea so quickly and urged Dammy Krane to focus on his music moving forward.
Dammy Krane also called Davido his brother and promised to resolve their differences.
“Dammykrane is out,dear @davido as you have honored me by listening to my plea and granting my request in less than 4hrs God will honor you,dammykrane really went so far by allegedly saying things like you have a hand in tagbo’s kpai,a lot more that disrespect your wife and family,he really went to far,I do not support any form of byllyn and d€f@mation I only came in because maybe God put it in my heart because omo I don’t even know why I am speaking up and pleading for dammykrane,person when done inzu!t and def@me me tooo,anyways I believe God is giving him a second chance and I hope and believe he focuses on his music moving on,HE IS TALENTED AND I PRAY HIS TALENT SHINES so he will be distracted lol thank you DAVID ADELEKE,” VDM wrote.
