Crystal Palace has signed Trevoh Chalobah, a defender from Chelsea, on a loan deal for the entire season.
The 25-year-old was allowed to leave Chelsea after not being included in the team’s pre-season tour in the United States.
Chalobah also did not play in Chelsea’s first four matches this season under coach Enzo Maresca.
The deal was announced on Saturday morning, but was finalized before the transfer window closed at 11 PM BST on Friday night.
“I’m delighted to join an ambitious club like Crystal Palace. I know some of the boys in the squad well and I’m looking forward to playing alongside them in front of the amazing support at Selhurst Park,” Chalobah said.

Last season, Chalobah played 17 matches for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino, after making his debut for the club in 2021 with Thomas Tuchel as manager.
At Palace, Chalobah might pair up with Marc Guehi in defense, who stayed at the club this summer despite interest from Newcastle United.
Palace was busy on transfer deadline day, also signing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal and Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg. These signings come after the exits of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, Joachim Andersen to Fulham, and striker Odsonne Edouard, who joined Leicester City on loan.
Chalobah was one of four Chelsea players to leave on loan on deadline day.
Forward Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal, Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic moved to Strasbourg, and striker Armando Broja signed with Everton.
Meanwhile, Chelsea secured Jadon Sancho from Manchester United on a loan deal, which includes an option to buy in 2025.
