A tragic story of lies, betrayal, and murder has surfaced in the case of Christiannah Idowu, a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), who was allegedly killed by her friend and serial killer, Ayomide Adeleye.
According to sources, her family began a frantic search after her disappearance on August 19, 2024, only to receive a call from her kidnappers demanding a ransom of N1,500,000.
As the investigation continued, detectives followed digital clues that led them to a suspect who knew Christiannah through social media. The suspect’s bank account was linked to the ransom payment, and further checks revealed suspicious activities.
The suspect had been in touch with Christiannah’s family using her WhatsApp, sending messages and photos that showed her in captivity, but after the family paid the ransom, the suspect stopped communicating, leaving them in deep worry.
Police tracked the suspect’s phone to his parent’s house in Ikorodu, where he was arrested. A search of his phone uncovered evidence, including details of the ransom and his interactions with Christiannah’s family.
