Popular Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has reportedly left Nigeria just days after being released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
His sudden departure has sparked reactions across social media, with many discussing the reason behind his exit.
In a series of videos posted on his Instagram story on Monday, Bobrisky shared that he was flying first class but did not reveal his destination.
“See you soon, Nigeria,” he said, bragging about spending over 30 million naira on his ticket.
The recent events come after Bobrisky faced a turbulent week.
Beyond Boders recalls that he was removed from an Amsterdam-bound flight at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday night while attempting to travel to London. Bobrisky claimed he was injured during the incident, which he shared with his followers.
Following the airport encounter, Bobrisky was taken to EFCC headquarters in Abuja for questioning.
Authorities reportedly interrogated him over allegations that he had offered a 15 million naira bribe to dismiss money laundering charges. He was released on bail on Saturday, denying the bribery claims.
Bobrisky’s legal troubles began earlier this year in April when he was sentenced to six months in prison for currency abuse.
He was initially detained at Kirikiri Prison but reportedly spent only three weeks there before being moved to a private location.
The controversy intensified in September when social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, shared an audio clip allegedly implicating Bobrisky in attempts to bribe EFCC officials.
