Popular Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo, has emerged as the winner of the Ayawaso West constituency election under the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dumelo defeated his main opponent from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mrs. Lydia Alhassan, in a closely contested race. This marks a major achievement for Dumelo, who had previously contested for the same seat in 2020 but lost narrowly to Alhassan.

Addressing supporters after his victory, Dumelo expressed gratitude and pledged to fulfill his promises.
“This victory is not just for me, but for the people of Ayawaso West. I am committed to ensuring that we build a stronger, more prosperous community together,” he said.
Beyond politics, John Dumelo is well known for his acting career in Nollywood and Ghollywood. He has featured in several popular movies, including “4Play,” “A Northern Affair,” “Adams Apples,” and “Blackmoney.”
