Tushbee, a well-known sex coach, journalist, and actress whose real name is Divine James, has shared her views on the growing trend of leaked sex tapes involving public figures.
In a bold and uncensored interview with Beyond Boders, Tushbee, whose title “Sexcellency” was coined by her friend, radio personality MC ICE, discussed her journey into the world of sex coaching, saying it began as a way to fill content on a radio show but quickly evolved as she began helping people with real sexual concerns.
“The title was given to me by Micha Aruocha aka MC ICE of Traffic Radio. Initially, when I started my ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’ show, I was using Tushbee Da sex goddess.
“One day, Icewater with is usual wahala was on my WhatsApp chat and after looking for my trouble, he called me her sexcellency and immediately, I took a liking in the name and boom!….a name was born, and may I add that the name Tushbee was also given to me by one of my wahala friends too,” she said.
Balancing this with her careers in Journalism and Acting, Tushbee who is from the Southern part of Nigeria, sees communication as the key. “Journalism is all about communication, education, enlightenment and entertainment, same as acting. In Journalism, I only have to talk or write it out but in acting, I talk it and I act it,” she explained.
One of the most explosive aspects of the interview came when Tushbee addressed the recent wave of leaked explicit tapes, saying, “If you leak a video you/we made during our vulnerable state, the law should cut off your arms. It’s about protecting privacy and respecting boundaries.”
Tushbee also emphasized how such leaks damage the people involved, adding that public reactions are irrelevant to her. She encourages society to respect privacy and relationships, stating, “There is nothing we can do to change who gets shamed or not. We all just have to learn how to value and respect friendship.”
When it comes to evolving sexual needs, Tushbee offers insight on how desires shift over time. “In our 20s and 30s, physical drive peaks. By the 40s and 50s, it’s more about emotional connection. Later in life, it’s about quality over quantity, with a focus on closeness, affection, and satisfying sexual experiences.”
She also dives deep into how sex coaching can support LGBTQ+ individuals, discussing how stigma, discrimination, and lack of inclusive education affect sexual confidence. Tushbee stresses that creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients, especially those who have faced trauma, is vital for recovery and growth.
But it is not just about tackling serious issues. Tushbee’s passion for helping people rediscover intimacy is clear. She stresses communication, experimentation, and a healthy dose of creativity as key to maintaining a fulfilling sex life at any age.
Ending the interview on a hopeful note, she urged people to embrace their full sexual potential, leaving them with a powerful message: “Have a plan A to Z if you can, and welcome to 2025.”
