David Lynch, the famous director and writer known for his unique and dark storytelling, has passed away at the age of 78.
Lynch changed the world of American movies and TV with his unusual style in films like “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive,” as well as the popular TV show “Twin Peaks.”
In 2024, Lynch shared that he had emphysema, a lung disease caused by years of smoking. This illness made it hard for him to continue directing.
His family announced his passing on Facebook, saying, “There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us. But, as he would say, ‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.”
Lynch’s work, including “Twin Peaks,” “Blue Velvet,” “Lost Highway,” and “Mulholland Drive” combined elements of horror, mystery, and European surrealism. His storytelling, much like the work of Spanish filmmaker Luis Buñuel, followed a dream-like and mysterious logic, captivating audiences worldwide.
