Donald Trump, the newly re-elected President of the United States, has invited Pastor William Kumuyi, the founder of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, to attend his second inauguration as the 47th president. The ceremony is set for January 20, where Trump will take the oath of office alongside his Vice President, JD Vance.
The invitation marks the end of President Joe Biden’s term, who lost the 2024 election to Trump. The confirmation of Pastor Kumuyi’s attendance was made public through a statement on the website of Larry Ross Communications, a U.S.-based public relations firm.
This invitation follows an earlier announcement that Nigerian gospel artiste Nathaniel Bassey will perform at Trump’s inaugural prayer breakfast. Bassey is the only African artiste scheduled to minister at the event, which is a faith-based gathering held before the swearing-in ceremony.
The statement from Larry Ross Communications mentions that Pastor Kumuyi, aged 83, will speak on the global shift in Christianity during the inauguration. His participation will emphasize the importance of religious freedom and Christian unity at the event.
““As global leaders convene in Washington, D.C. for President Donald Trump’s second inauguration on Jan. 20, one of the world’s most influential Christian leaders, Rev. William F. Kumuyi, will attend,” the statement read.
It also noted that Pastor Kumuyi leads one of the largest churches globally and is known for his impactful Bible teaching and evangelistic outreach.
Pastor Kumuyi expressed his gratitude for the invitation, describing Trump as a strong supporter of the gospel. He highlighted Trump’s efforts to promote religious freedom and Christian values during his previous term. Kumuyi is expected to meet with members of Congress, American church leaders, and media representatives during his visit.
“This moment in history reminds us that faith transcends borders and unites believers worldwide. As we gather in Washington, D.C., the global church stands together in prayer and purpose, advocating for faith-based dialogue to shape policies that uphold religious liberty and foster the growth of Christianity worldwide,” Pastor Kumuyi said
Pastor Kumuyi will also be available for interviews to discuss the global shift in Christianity and its impact on the world stage.
