A$AP Rocky shared an emotional moment with his girlfriend, Rihanna, after a Los Angeles court found him not guilty of felony assault.
The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was accused of shooting at his former friend, A$AP Relli, in 2021. However, on February 18, 2025, the jury ruled that there was not enough evidence to convict him.
As soon as the verdict was announced, cheers filled the courtroom. Rihanna, who had supported Rocky throughout the trial, rushed to embrace him. The couple shared a long hug, celebrating his freedom. “Thank y’all for saving my life,” Rocky told the jurors before leaving the courtroom.
Outside, Rihanna stood by his side as he spoke to the media. “We want to thank God first,” Rocky said, expressing his relief. His lawyers argued that he had used a toy gun with blanks, claiming he fired it as a warning shot after Relli attacked someone in their group. However, this detail was only revealed during the trial.
With the case now over, A$AP Rocky is set to move forward. He will headline the Rolling Loud festival, co-chair the Met Gala, and star in Spike Lee’s upcoming film “Highest 2 Lowest.”
