The Federal Government has announced that Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, will be public holidays to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.
This was made known by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Monday.
The minister congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and those living abroad as they prepare for the special celebration. He encouraged them to keep showing the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and strong faith, just like Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) did.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo also asked Nigerians to use this festive season to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the country.
He said the government is working hard through people-focused programmes to move Nigeria forward, following President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The minister “while wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul- Adha celebration,” called on everyone to support the government in building a better and greater Nigeria.
