Popular Nollywood actress Ronke Odusanya has opened up about the struggles in her marriage to Saheed Olarewaju, known as Jago, revealing how a friend’s lies led to their breakup.
In an interview on Wasila Coded TV with actress Bimpe Akintunde, Odusanya explained that a close friend spread harmful rumours about her to her ex-husband.
According to her, the friend falsely claimed she planned to leave Jago for prostitution and accused her of having an affair with a senator.
“A friend of mine told my partner that I wanted to leave him and go into prostitution. That I went to sleep in a Senator’s house with our daughter, Fife. My mouth was left open when he told me,” Odusanya shared.
Odusanya said these false claims strained her relationship with Jago, though she managed to show proof of her innocence by sending him a video with a timestamp to confirm her whereabouts.
“God gave me grace because I did a video recording of the time and date on my phone. I recorded it when we got to where we would sleep,” she added.
Reflecting on her life after the breakup, Odusanya described the financial challenges she faced, saying she had less than N10,000 in her account and no place to stay.
“When we left, I didn’t have up to N10,000 in my account, but I decided this was it. I had nothing; all my jewelry was taken away, and I fainted with that. I was wondering where to start from. I cried so much that day because I didn’t have money to get an accommodation,” she recalled.
