Singer Portable has criticized Nigerians for celebrating the Super Eagles’ victory against South Africa.
As spotted by Beyond Boders, he questioned why people are happy when many are hungry and facing difficulties.
Portable pointed out that while Nigerians cheer for the football team, many citizens struggle to afford food.
He emphasized the disparity between celebrating sports victories and addressing pressing issues like hunger and economic challenges.
“My people, pray for Nigeria. Hungry wan kill us. You people should sit down and ask yourself ‘Why am I happy? Why am I dancing up and down? Have I eaten? Dollar has risen. Euro is running. Where is the Naira? You are not thinking about your life, you watching football, opening your chest. Your wife and children are at home, they have not eaten and you are shouting ’Goal! Goal!, Up Nigeria!,” Portable said.
