Afrobeats star Asake has reportedly ended his relationship with YBNL and its founder, Olamide.
Fans noticed something unusual when Asake unfollowed Olamide on Instagram, deleted all mentions of YBNL from his bio, and removed posts from his account. These actions have fueled rumours about a possible split.
A popular blogger, Cutie Juls, shared that Asake’s contract with YBNL recently ended. Olamide reportedly offered a renewal deal, but Asake chose not to sign despite several attempts by Olamide to convince him.
The decision marks a big change in Asake’s music career, as he plans to work independently. Fans have reacted with surprise and curiosity about what lies ahead for the artiste.
The blogger wrote, “Asake leaves YBNL and dumps OLAMIDE. Insiders says Asake’s contract with Olamide’s YBNL expired and when OLAMIDE presented Asake with a new contract, Asake refused to sign.
“OLAMIDE apparently tried everything in his books to renew his record label with Asake but Asake refused.
“The final straw happened two [2] weeks ago when Asake walked out completely out of the deal opting to be his own boss.”
Beyond Boders recalls that Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and quickly rose to fame with hits like “Sungba”. He achieved remarkable success, including selling out the O2 Arena twice.
Many are now eager to see how this change will shape Asake’s future in the music industry.
