Popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has been released from police custody.
Beyond Boders recalls that Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison in April without the option of a fine. He was arrested at the premiere of actress Eniola Ajao’s movie “Ajakaju.”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Bobrisky with six counts, including abuse of the Naira and money laundering.
The court dismissed the money laundering charges, but found him guilty of abusing the Naira after he admitted to the crime. Bobrisky was ordered to serve his sentence in EFCC detention in Lagos.
