Popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been released after being detained by the Nigerian Immigration Service.
Bobrisky announced the news today, October 29, 2024, through his official Instagram account.
Beyond Boders recalls that earlier on October 21, 2024, activist VeryDarkMan reported that Bobrisky had been arrested by immigration officials while allegedly attempting to cross into Benin Republic. This arrest was later confirmed by the Nigerian Immigration Service on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan have an ongoing case in the Nigerian House of Representatives, following an accusation from the activist, claiming that Bobrisky attempted to bribe officials to drop a money laundering case.
VeryDarkMan also alleged that Bobrisky never spent any time in prison.
Today, Bobrisky shared new photos on Instagram to confirm his release, along with a caption saying, “Strong women don’t play d victim. Don’t make themselves look pitiful and don’t point fingers. They stand and they deal.”
