Bobrisky Treated Like Other Inmates – Prison Official

by Beyondboders

Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, got a six-month prison sentence for mishandling the Nigerian currency. Now, he is in Ikoyi Custodial Centre, sharing space with other male inmates.

Beyond Boders recalls that Justice Abimbola Awogboro from the Federal High Court in Lagos gave the sentence on April 12, 2024, as the court hopes it will stop others from damaging or changing money.

At the Custodial Centre, Bobrisky is not getting special treatment. An official there, who did not want their name shared, said Bobrisky was checked when he arrived; they found no changes in his gender or body parts.

“Bobrisky made a public declaration that he was a male and court proceedings are public records. Every inmate brought into a facility during admission is examined. He was equally examined and no realignment of gender or genital organ was discovered. The male biological features were the same.

“After that, a cell was allocated to him, and he had a certain number of inmates with him. A bed space was also allotted to him. It is just like a boarding house where your housemaster will issue you your personal belongings,” the official said.
