Aliko Dangote, the boss of Dangote Group, has shown off the first petrol made by his new refinery.
He did this on Tuesday at his refinery in Lagos State. The refinery, which can produce 650,000 barrels of petrol, did a test run to make sure it works well.
Dangote thanked the Nigerian government for supporting his business, and praised President Bola Tinubu for his idea to use the Naira for oil transactions, which will help stabilize the currency.
“I would like to salute the people of Nigeria and the government of President Bola Tinubu for giving us the platform for growth, development, and prosperity,” Dangote said.
He added that the refinery will help track petrol consumption in Nigeria and prevent smuggling.
