Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, is said to be back in his role.
On Thursday, May 23, Leadership newspaper reported that Sanusi has been reinstated after the Kano house of assembly decided to get rid of several new emirates in the state.
Even though there has not been an official announcement yet, the newspaper claims to have reliable information about Sanusi’s return. They say he is expected to be in Kano on Friday, May 24.
An insider mentioned, “With the passage of the Bill, Sanusi automatically stands reinstated. No need for confirmation, the thing to do is wait for the governor to assent to it.”
