President Bola Tinubu is currently hosting Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, at the State House Council Chambers.
This meeting comes shortly after their recent match at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, where they narrowly missed securing the top spot against Côte d’Ivoire.
All team members and officials are present at the gathering, which follows Nigeria’s defeat to the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in the AFCON finals held last Sunday.
In a statement released after the match, Tinubu praised the team, coach, crew, and management for their hard work and dedication throughout the tournament.
He acknowledged the obstacles they overcame and their consistent improvement, culminating in reaching the finals.
