Burna Boy, a Grammy Award-winning artiste, has launched a new song called “Higher,” which is meant to inspire his hometown, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Beyond Boders reports that this release is special because it supports his Project PROTECT initiative. This project helps communities facing violence and poverty by giving them financial, medical, and legal aid.
The music video for “Higher,” which is out today, shows Burna Boy’s heartfelt return to Port Harcourt; he takes part in activities to uplift the community.
Directed by Burna Boy and Asurf, the video shows him visiting his childhood home and local villages.
With volunteers from Project PROTECT and The R.E.A.C.H., he hands out essential supplies.
They also work together on education and healthcare projects, including supporting the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
The R.E.A.C.H. (Reach Every Available Communal Household) and Project PROTECT have helped improve life in over 21 communities, benefiting more than 11,000 people.
The video highlights Burna Boy’s efforts to help others and encourages people to think and act selflessly for their community.
