The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has started a new recruitment drive to hire skilled professionals and tax officers to strengthen its operations and improve services.
The recruitment, announced on Monday, includes roles such as assistant manager, deputy manager, senior manager, and assistant director.
Positions are open in key areas like tax investigation, public relations, research, ICT (cybersecurity and AI), legal, and risk management.
Requirements for Applicants
FIRS outlined specific qualifications and conditions for applicants:
– Education: A Bachelor’s degree or HND with at least second-class lower or lower credit.
– NYSC Completion: Must have completed the NYSC programme by December 31, 2017.
– Age Limit:
– Assistant manager and deputy manager applicants must not be older than 40 years by December 31, 2024.
– Senior manager and assistant director applicants must not be older than 45 years by the same date.
Desired Skills
Applicants should have:
– Leadership and communication skills.
– Teamwork abilities.
– Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws.
– Analytical and regulatory skills.

FIRS also recently opened applications for tax officer roles in November 2024. These positions are available in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo states.
