Trevoh Chalobah has spoken out about his commitment to Chelsea amid rumours swirling about his future in the team.
Chalobah’s impressive performance on Thursday night helped Chelsea secure a 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
His goal at Stamford Bridge, along with Nicolas Jackson’s contribution, sealed the win for the Blues in the London derby.
This match marked Chalobah’s 13th appearance for Chelsea this season. Just back in January, there were talks of him leaving the club, but he stayed put. Now, he’s focused on proving his worth to Mauricio Pochettino, the manager.
Reflecting on the uncertainty surrounding his future, Chalobah told Sky Sports, “For me, I have been through a lot in my career. It is important for me to stay focused.
“I know my abilities and I just need to keep working hard in training and trying to give the manager a headache.”
Chalobah also highlighted the growing consistency within the Chelsea squad. Despite the ups and downs, he sees signs of improvement, especially considering the team’s young age.
“The players that we have and the ability we have, but as we have talked about with the consistency, as a young team it’s going to be like this,” Chalobah commented.
“Once we get that consistency then we will be flying. But we just need to stay grounded, stay humble. There are a few games left and we need to be able to do this kind of performance every single game,” he added.
