Nigerian music star Davido has encountered a setback as YouTube removed his popular wedding song, “Ogechi Remix,” due to copyright problems.
The song gained attention after Davido performed it during his wedding to Chioma on June 25, 2024.
The track, originally by BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel, became a hit when Davido added his own twist, even mentioning his wife’s name, Chioma, in the lyrics. The music video for the song was released on July 19, 2024.
However, the song was recently taken down from Davido’s YouTube channel because of copyright claims.
Despite this, the audio version of the “Ogechi Remix” remains available on BoyPee’s YouTube page.
It has come to light that the original “Ogechi” song existed before BoyPee and the other artistes released their version, which Davido later remixed.
Davido is not credited on the YouTube page where the song details are listed, leading to the current copyright dispute.
