Democrats are worried after President Biden’s debate against former President Trump, with many feeling he did not perform well.
One Democratic supporter sent a “face-palm” emoji, while another used a “vomit” emoji to show their disappointment.
Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s former communications director, said on CNN, “It was a really disappointing debate performance from Joe Biden.”
By the end of the 90-minute debate on CNN, it was clear many Democrats were concerned. This worry spread from Congress to major cities and even into homes where supporters watched.
Biden, who needed to show voters he is still strong enough to lead, had a shaky start. His voice was weak, and he struggled to speak clearly.

Maria Shriver, a well-known Democrat, expressed her disappointment online. She praised Biden as a good man but admitted, “There’s panic in the Democratic party. It’s going to be a long night.”
Some Democrats blamed the debate moderators for not fact-checking Trump. However, many believed Biden should have been more assertive, while others felt it might be time for Biden to step aside for a younger candidate.
Even within Biden’s team, there was acknowledgment of his struggles. While they noted he improved later, the early mistakes were damaging.
Meanwhile, Trump’s performance, though full of falsehoods, was less scrutinized due to Biden’s errors.
Overall, Biden’s debate performance left many Democrats worried about the future.
