The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has advised Nigerians to disconnect electrical appliances before and during rains.
NiMet warned about possible flash floods because of moderate to heavy rain expected in some parts of the country. The agency also said that strong winds might come with the rain.
These strong winds could harm weak buildings, trees, and masts. Other dangers include slippery roads and poor visibility, which can affect driving.
NiMet said heavy rain is expected from the 10th to the 12th in parts of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.
Moderate to heavy rain is also expected in Taraba, Adamawa, Benue, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Edo, Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, Kebbi, Kogi, Niger, the FCT, Kaduna, Plateau, Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Kwara, Abia, and Imo states.
