Controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has been released from Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Upon his release on Monday, Bobrisky urged his followers to respect the law and avoid spraying money at parties.
Beyond Boders recalls that Bobrisky was imprisoned for six months after being convicted of naira abuse for spraying money at an event.
In an interview with GoldMyneTV, Bobrisky warned, “Follow the rules, abide by the law. Don’t spray money, unless you’ll be a landlord inside Kirikiri.”
“It’s not just about killing or any criminal activity, something light like this can take you there,” he added.
After his release, Bobrisky held a small party, which was captured in a video circulating online.
Bobrisky was sentenced on April 12, 2024, by a Federal High Court in Lagos. During the trial, he expressed regret for his actions and promised to use his platform to educate his fans about the dangers of spraying money.
While in prison, Bobrisky was treated like any other inmate. A prison official confirmed that he was examined upon admission and that his biological gender remains male.
The official also mentioned that Bobrisky was given a cell and personal belongings like other prisoners.
