Controversy

In September 2018, Edewor faced body-shaming comments on Instagram after posting a photo of herself and her sister vacationing in Greece.

A troll commented on the appearance of her breasts, to which Edewor responded assertively, highlighting the natural changes in a woman’s body post-breastfeeding and questioning the standards of beauty imposed by society.

This incident underscored the challenges celebrities face with online harassment and the importance of self-acceptance.

In March 2015, Edewor posted photos from a feature in Thisday Style magazine titled ‘The Journey’, which sparked a debate on social media.

The photos, depicting Edewor in traditional attire surrounded by dark-skinned children, were criticized for promoting colourism and portraying racial stereotypes.

Edewor defended the photos, explaining that they were meant to depict a traditional scene, but the controversy highlighted ongoing issues of representation and sensitivity in media portrayals.

Eku Edewor has established herself as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.

Her diverse career has earned her an estimated net worth of over $500,000, making her one of the most influential and wealthy personalities in African entertainment.
