Former Super Eagles coach Finidi George will soon be the new manager of Rivers United, a team in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
Finidi George, who was born in Rivers State, will be introduced as the new manager of Rivers United on Thursday, according to Trendy Faith, the media officer of Rivers Angels.
Finidi, 53, left his position as the Nigerian national team’s coach just one month after starting.
His time with the Super Eagles began badly, with a draw against South Africa and a surprising loss to Benin Republic, hurting Nigeria’s hopes for the 2026 World Cup.
Before coaching the national team, Finidi had a successful three years managing Enyimba, the former NPFL champions.
