Skai Jackson, the 22-year-old former Disney star, has revealed that she is expecting her first child.
Although she has kept her boyfriend’s identity private, Jackson shared her excitement with PEOPLE magazine.
“I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life — embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full!” Jackson expressed.
The actress will soon appear in the upcoming movie “The Man in the White Van,” set for release in theatres on December 13. She recently promoted the film at Comic-Con, showing her continued dedication to her acting career even as she prepares for motherhood.
Jackson shares a close bond with her mother, Kiya Cole, who raised her as a single mum. In a recent interview, she credited her mum with building her confidence.
“She always taught me to stand up for myself, stand up for what I believe in and fight for what is right,” Jackson shared, adding that without her mother’s guidance, she would not be as confident as she is today.
As a former child star known for her role as Zuri Ross on “Jessie” and “Bunk’d,” Jackson is also aware of the responsibility that comes with being a role model. “It’s very important for me to put out the right message, be positive at all times and give my fans great advice. Let them know that anything that they want to do in life, they can achieve it,” she said.
Jackson, who also competed on “Dancing With the Stars” in 2020 and authored “Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback,” looks forward to this new journey with joy and gratitude.
