A former Super Falcons player, James Johnson, has appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for financial help to complete his gender transition surgery.
Johnson, who was born with both male and female organs, wants to become a father and is seeking N69.7 million to fund the final two phases of his surgery.
“I’m begging the NFF to help me achieve my dream of becoming a father,” Johnson said. “I’ve come a long way in my journey, and I’m hopeful that they will come through for me.”
Beyond Boders recalls that Johnson, who played for the Super Falcons from 1997 to 2000, underwent a sex change operation in 2004, but still needs to complete the final stages of his surgery.
He has written to the NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau, appealing for financial assistance to achieve his dream of becoming a father.
