Self-proclaimed investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has sparked an online uproar with her claims that Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo was arrested for threatening national security.
In a live video and tweet, Olunloyo said that Iyabo was taken into custody on Sunday, July 21st, suspected of being behind Gistlover, a blog accused of causing national problems.
Olunloyo claimed the arrest was carried out by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of State Services (DSS). She asked her followers to donate for further investigation into the situation.
On her X platform, Olunloyo wrote:
“#BREAKING lyabo Ojo has been arrested by the NSA, picked up last night on suspicion of running Gistlover a blog that has disrupted National Security.
“The same blog that spread Dr Kemi’s phone number, address and pictures of her apartment online. She is a threat to society.
“I was right on the Gistlover ownership. The NSA is working with DSS. I told Nigerian Police this a long time ago. I hope this also links her to obstruction of justice in the Mohbad case. Tonto the admin NEXT!!,#Kemitalks”
However, Iyabo Ojo responded by posting a live video on Instagram showing herself working on set with the date mentioned as Tuesday, July 22nd. This was to prove that she was not arrested.
In the video, Iyabo mocked those who believed Olunloyo’s claims and had started donating to her cause.
She also posted another video in which she stated that Olunloyo urgently needed medical attention.
