Newcastle United came back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 against Wolves, thanks to a late goal from Harvey Barnes.
This win moved Newcastle up to third place in the league, while Wolves are still looking for their first win of the season.
Newcastle started the game strong and almost scored when Anthony Gordon hit the post. However, Wolves took the lead in the 36th minute when their captain scored from a Jorgen Strand Larsen cross after a quick counterattack.
At halftime, Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, made three substitutions, but Wolves continued to control the game. They almost scored again when Strand Larsen’s powerful shot hit the post.
Just as it seemed like Newcastle was going to lose, a shot from Fabien Schar deflected off Wolves’ player Craig Dawson and went into the net, making the score 1-1. Soon after, Harvey Barnes scored a beautiful goal, curling the ball into the top corner, giving Newcastle the lead.
Wolves tried to equalize until the final whistle, but Newcastle’s defense stayed strong. Wolves are now in 18th place with just one point from four games, while Newcastle celebrated their third win in four games, making it their best start to a Premier League season since 1995-96.
