A house help working for Aribemchukwu, the daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, has confessed to being involved in her murder, according to a police source.
Beyond Boders reports that the tragic incident happened at Parkview Estate in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
Aribemchukwu, also known as Chuchu, was reportedly killed in her home on Tuesday night. Her lifeless body was found outside the gate of her residence on Wednesday morning.
Three domestic workers, including the house help, a security guard, and a driver, were arrested in connection with the crime.
A police source, who asked not to be named, revealed that the house help admitted to the crime during questioning.
The source explained that Aribemchukwu was murdered inside her room, and her body was then dragged outside to make it seem like she was killed at the gate. The suspects tried to clean the bloodstains but missed some spots due to the darkness.
The house help reportedly confessed, saying, “We do am, na we do am,” during the interrogation.
The police confirmed that the three workers had only been employed a week before the incident.
Aribemchukwu was a doctor and had recently married before her untimely death. The police are still investigating the case, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
