Bishop Allan Kiuna, the founder of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC), has passed away at the age of 58.
He died on Tuesday in a Nairobi hospital where he was being treated for myeloma, a type of blood cancer.
JCC released a statement on Tuesday to announce his death and ask for privacy for his family during this difficult time.
The statement said, “It is with heartfelt condolences that today we announce the passing of our beloved Bishop Allan Kiuna. Bishop Allan Kiuna…was an extraordinary man who touched the lives of many and had a great passion for ministering not only locally but globally.”
Bishop Kiuna was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and sought treatment in Kenya and the United States.
In December last year, he declared himself cancer-free after a year of treatment in the U.S. He shared that his treatment cost $3 million, which he did not have to pay himself, as he believed God provided for him.
President William Ruto expressed his condolences, calling Bishop Kiuna a dedicated Christian leader who inspired many.
He offered support to Kiuna’s wife, Rev. Kathy Kiuna, and their family, saying, “We stand with you in this time of grief and mourning, and pray that you find the courage to persevere through this trying period. May he rest in peace.”
Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, wife of the Deputy President, also mourned Kiuna, calling him a brave soldier. She extended her condolences to Rev. Kathy Kiuna and the family.
Bishop Kiuna leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Rev. Kathy, and their three children.
