‘I Don’t Know Him,’ Falana Dismisses Allegations of Seeking ₦10m from Bobrisky for Presidential Pardon [Video]

by Beyondboders

Femi Falana, a well-known human rights lawyer, has denied claims that he asked Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, for ₦10 million to get a presidential pardon.

These claims were made in a viral video by Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

In the video, Otse alleged that Bobrisky, while serving a six-month jail term, had approached Falana and his son, Folarin Falana (known as Falz), to secure a pardon in exchange for money. A recorded conversation was shared online, where a voice believed to be Bobrisky’s claimed that Falana and his son wanted ₦10 million to help.

Falana, speaking on Channels TV, firmly denied these accusations. He said, “Bobrisky never spoke to me. I have never met him. I do not know him from Adam.”

Falana further explained that Bobrisky contacted his son, Falz, asking for ₦3 million to be moved to a “VIP” section of the prison. Falz refused, warning Bobrisky to follow proper procedures and not to call him for any illegal favours.

Falana also said that his son has never negotiated any payments for anyone and threatened legal action against Otse for making false claims. He called Otse’s actions “immature” and promised to take him to court as a lesson for others who spread lies online.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has also denied any wrongdoing.

Bilikisu Bala, head of the EFCC’s prosecution team, said the charges against Bobrisky were dropped for legal reasons, not because of any bribe. She called the bribery claims laughable and untrue.
