Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the founder of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has spoken out about allegations of real estate fraud and money laundering.
Addressing his congregation during a recent church service, Pastor Idowu denied all accusations, saying he owns no real estate apart from a property inherited from his late parents.
The pastor, known for his popular Next Level Prayers programme, clarified, “I do not sell or buy properties. I am not into that business, and I do not receive billions in my accounts. My account is a public account. You can go and check. I have never received billions in my account.”
The allegations surfaced after reports claimed that funds linked to a fraudulent real estate scheme were traced from the church’s account to Pastor Idowu’s personal account.
On December 3, the pastor was reportedly detained in Abuja but released shortly after. Sources suggested his release followed pressure from influential individuals, including senior government officials and religious leaders.
During his address, Pastor Idowu described the news as baseless rumours, stating, “Over the last 24 hours there have been a lot of news about me on social media about this and that. I just want to make some facts clear. I heard that I was involved in real estate. So firstly, I do not have any property in Nigeria. The only property I have was the one my late parents bequeathed me.”
A video of the pastor denying the allegations has sparked diverse reactions online. While some critics questioned his response, others expressed support and prayed for him. See reactions below:
