Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has said he supports the right of young people to protest peacefully.
He also mentioned that he would like to join the ongoing protest by the #Take It Back Movement, but only if he has the time.
The Minister spoke on Monday in Abuja after the 2025 Annual Management Conference of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). He advised youths to express themselves peacefully and avoid damaging any government property.
“Everyone has the right to protest. If I even have the time, I will go and join the protest,” Olawande said.
He added that the government has not stopped anyone from protesting or speaking out. However, he warned that destroying government buildings or properties that help the economy is not acceptable.
“I will be there to address them if I even have the time,” he added.
