Spain’s national football coach, Luis de la Fuente, has expressed disappointment over Real Madrid’s decision to skip the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony in France.
Real Madrid did not attend the event after learning that their forward, Vinicius Junior, would not win the award.
Alongside Vinicius, teammates Dani Carvajal, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Antonio Rudiger also chose not to travel to France.
De la Fuente commented on the matter, saying it is a loss for the sport when a major club like Real Madrid is missing from such an important event.
“It is not good for football that a club like Real Madrid is not present at a gala of this nature,” he added.
