A train heading to Abuja derailed on Sunday morning along the Abuja-Kaduna route, leaving passengers stranded near Jere in Kaduna State.
Senator Shehu Sani, a former senator for Kaduna North, shared the news on his verified X account.
He stated, “A minor Abuja, Kaduna morning train derail near Jere but engineers are attending to it.”
There has been no official statement from the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) yet, but sources suggest the issue will be resolved quickly.
This incident comes about a year after another derailment on the same route, also reported by Senator Sani. He urged the NRC to prioritize the safety and security of the stranded passengers.
Senator Sani wrote, “Kaduna Abuja Train derails; NRC please ensure the security and safety of the stranded passengers.”
