In the early hours of Sunday, bandits kidnapped Rev. Father Gabriel Ukeh, the priest in charge of St. Thomas Parish in Zaman Dabo Community, located in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Kazah, the Vicar General (Pastoral), confirmed the incident in a statement. He expressed deep concern and urged for prayers for Fr. Ukeh’s safe and quick return.
Fr. Kazah also condemned the frequent kidnappings in the region, calling on the government to improve security measures, especially with the upcoming Sallah celebrations.
“We wish to call on all to stay away from taking the laws into their hands. We will use every legitimate means to ensure that Fr. comes back to us safe and sound.
“Through the intercessions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of Priests and Religious, may Jesus the crucified hearken to our prayers and hasten the unconditional release of His Priest and every other abducted person,” Fr. Kazah said.
