Ahead of a planned protest about hunger, the police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have sent out 4,200 officers to different parts of the capital city.
The police also said they have sent bomb experts to important places.
Josephine Adeh, the police spokesperson, said on Friday that the deployment is to keep people safe, protect the protesters, and stop the protest from being taken over by troublemakers.
She also said the police will be searching problem areas, unfinished buildings, and shanties.
They will also do stop-and-search operations with other security agencies.
