The Supreme Court has decided to wait another week before making any moves on the case involving former President Donald Trump’s attempt to change the 2020 election outcome; this surprised some legal experts who thought the court would act faster.
Trump wants the Supreme Court to stop his criminal case while he challenges a decision not to drop his charges based on “presidential immunity.”
He plans to ask both the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court to hear his case.
Chief Justice John Roberts has asked the Justice Department’s Special Counsel, Jack Smith, to respond to Trump’s request by February 20.
