In Kaduna, a newly married woman named Habiba Ibrahim allegedly cut off her husband’s manhood.
Beyond Boders learned that the husband, 40-year-old Salisu Idris, is a commercial motorcycle rider.
The incident happened on May 26, right after Idris returned home from the mosque where he had gone for early morning prayers.
According to Idris, he was resting on his bed when his wife attacked him with a sharp knife, nearly severing his manhood, but a quick intervention by a neighbour prevented her from completing the act.
Idris expressed his shock, stating there was no disagreement or fight between them before the incident.
The police in the Zaria area arrested Habiba after the attack, while Idris was immediately taken to General Hospital, Makarfi, and later moved to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria for further treatment.
Idris’ mother, Rabi Salisu, who is caring for him at the hospital, mentioned that her son never complained about his wife before.
Idris said, “I’m more concerned about my health right now and not thinking of remarrying shortly.”
The police spokesperson for Kaduna State, ASP Mansur Hassan, was not available for comments as his phone could not be reached.
Habiba’s parents are concerned and have offered to pay for Idris’ medical expenses.
