American rapper Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, are reportedly going their separate ways after two years of marriage.
According to TMZ, both West and Censori have spoken to lawyers about getting a divorce. The Daily Mail also reported that Censori, a 30-year-old architect, is set to receive $5 million as part of the split.
This news comes shortly after the couple made headlines with a shocking red carpet appearance. Censori was seen wearing a nearly naked outfit while standing beside West at the Grammy Awards.
This sparked concerns that the rapper was influencing his wife’s choices, as she has often appeared in revealing outfits during their marriage.
Days later, West, who now calls himself Ye, made controversial posts on X (formerly Twitter). In one post, he called himself a “Nazi” and claimed he had “dominion over” his wife.
“I don’t make her do nothing she doesn’t want to but she definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without my approval,” he added.
His X account later went offline, but it was unclear if the platform removed it or if he deactivated it himself.
West’s online store, Yeezy.com, was also taken down this week after it began selling T-shirts with a swastika on them. Shopify, the company handling the sales, removed the site, saying it broke their rules.
Reports suggest that the swastika T-shirt incident was the breaking point for Censori.
“The swastika shirt was the last straw. She told him that’s not who she is, and that she can’t be associated with that.
“She doesn’t want any part of that circus. He believes that she’ll come back to him, he’s saying that she’s just mad at him, but right now she’s told him that she’s completely done,” a source told the New York Post.
However, right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos, who was reportedly speaking for the couple, denied the split.
“Ye and Bianca are in Los Angeles, about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together. Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumour in the tabloid press,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
West was previously married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children. Their divorce was finalized in 2022.
