by Beyondboders

The House of Representatives has sadly announced the death of Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, who was the Deputy Chief Whip. She represented the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in Ogun State.

The House Spokesman, Akintunde Rotimi, shared in a statement yesterday in Abuja that Onanuga passed away after a short illness.

Onanuga, born on December 2, 1965, was first elected to the House in 2019 under the All Progressives Congress (APC). She was reelected in 2023.

During her time in the Ninth Assembly, she served as the Chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, where she worked to support women and improve social welfare.
