Atalanta’s manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, has expressed his disappointment over the possible departure of Ademola Lookman to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Lookman, who has been with Atalanta for two seasons, is eager to join the French club, PSG.
Another player, Teun Koopmeiners, is also interested in moving to Juventus, a top club in Italy.
Lookman asked not to be included in Atalanta’s 4-0 victory over Leece on Monday.
Gasperini stated that he is grateful to both Lookman and Koopmeiners, but is unhappy about the timing of their possible transfers.
“I owe a lot to Koopmeiners and Lookman; they have always been sincere with me. It’s unfortunate that this situation arises just as the season is starting,” Gasperini told DANZ.
“The worst part is that these issues surface when the championship is already underway. No one likes dealing with these distractions at this stage. If this had happened in July, it wouldn’t have caused such problems,” Gasperini said.
